Auteuil Exterminator: Mice, Carpenter Ants and Wasps

auteuil exterminator

An Auteuil exterminator costs $399 for carpenter ants and insects, $409 for mice, and $429 for bed bugs. A wasp nest is $189. These are prices, not ranges, and the full list is published below.

We are Local Extermination. 14 years around Montreal, 9,000 clients, 6 licensed technicians. Mice, rats and insects: that is all we do, and it is why we are quick at it.

Auteuil is a sector of Laval, in the north of Île Jésus. Our Laval page covers the whole city and carries the same price list; this one is about Auteuil, because north Laval looks nothing like Chomedey or Laval-des-Rapides.

In Auteuil, Tell Us the Sector, Not Just “Laval”

Laval covers more than two hundred and forty square kilometres across six sectors that have almost nothing in common. When somebody just says “I’m in Laval”, the first thing we ask is where exactly, because the answer changes what we look for before we even arrive.

Auteuil, in the north, has three features that set it apart:

  • The Rivière des Mille Îles along the top. A continuous wooded bank, never maintained like a garden, running the length of the sector. That is a permanent rodent corridor, and the streets facing it feel it before the others do.
  • Almost no commercial core. Unlike Chomedey or the area around Carrefour Laval, there is no concentration of restaurants, loading docks or containers here. Rodent pressure is natural and seasonal rather than constant, and rats are uncommon.
  • Single family houses from 1960 to 2000, on decent lots. Mature trees, attached garages, and decks and sheds as old as the buildings. That is carpenter ant country.

In practice: the useful work here is the building perimeter and the yard, redone before autumn, rather than a year-round indoor programme. The six weeks after the first cold nights account for most of our mouse calls, and the rest of the year is quiet.

If you are in another Laval sector, the Laval page covers the whole city and carries the same price list.

Mice

Mouse found during an inspection in Auteuil

Call a pest exterminator for mice early rather than late. One mouse in October is a family in January, and an exterminator for one mouse is the cheapest visit on this page.

What you see: droppings along a baseboard, the size of a grain of rice, then scratching in a wall around dusk, mostly from late September to mid November.

Why Auteuil: the riverbank and the treed strips. A mouse fits through a gap the width of a pencil, and hardened weatherstripping at the attached garage door is still our number one entry point, followed by the dryer vent and the pipe runs.

What fixes it: closing the bottom of the building before the wave, not during it. You get the list in writing.

Worth knowing on a sector this size: the wave does not arrive everywhere at once. The streets along the bank see it first, sometimes a fortnight before the ones three streets in. If your neighbours have started calling and you have not, that is the window to do the perimeter rather than a reason to relax.

From $409 in a unit, $429 for a house. Perimeter control, best done in September, is $299.

Carpenter Ants

Carpenter ants in damp wood in Auteuil

A carpenter ant exterminator looks for water before looking for ants. They do not eat wood, they hollow out damp wood to nest in.

What you see: big black ants indoors, sawdust under a window or a patio joint, and a swarm in May. Winged ants mean an established colony, not scouts.

Why Auteuil: the trees are forty to sixty years old now, the riverbank keeps stumps and dead wood within flying distance, and the decks and sheds from the 1980s and 1990s are wood that has been taking water long enough.

What fixes it: treating the colony and fixing the moisture, looking for the source outdoors. Treating the house without looking at the back of the yard means doing it again next year.

Indoor from $399, $399 for a house. Outdoors, $129 for one visit or $327 for three across the season.

Wasps

Wasp nest under the soffit of a house in Auteuil

What you see: steady traffic at one point: a soffit, the corner of a shed, a hole in the lawn. The nest is bigger than its entrance suggests.

Why Auteuil: calls peak in August. The lots are large, which gives ground nests as well as soffit nests, and the shed at the back comes up every year.

What fixes it: do not touch it yourself. A disturbed nest fights back, and a can from the hardware store rarely reaches the inside.

One nest is $189, a full treatment is $259.

Bed Bugs, Cockroaches and Silverfish

Bed bugs in a mattress seam in Auteuil

A bed bug exterminator is called after something carried them in: travel, a used piece of furniture, a student room coming home. They live for months without feeding, so the second visit is not optional. From $429, up to $549 for a 10 ½, and $469 for a house.

An exterminator for cockroaches sees few cases in a sector of detached houses, where roaches arrive in cardboard and stay put. In a building they move through plumbing stacks, so the neighbours get treated too. From $429 in a unit, $469 for a house.

Silverfish and spiders follow moisture. A finished basement on a slab that was never sealed holds them from June to September. From $399, $399 for a house.

When Auteuil Pests Show Up, Month by Month

  • March to May. Carpenter ants swarm once the wood thaws, and it is the best time to spot the colony outdoors.
  • June to August. Wasps peak in August, in the lawn as well as the soffits.
  • September to November. The big block, and it is short: about six weeks from the first cold nights. The perimeter gets done in September.
  • December to February. Quiet, for want of a commercial reservoir nearby.

Why Call Us Instead of Someone Else

  • The price before the visit. Not a range: the number published on this page.
  • We ask which sector you are in. Laval is too big for one set of reflexes to work everywhere.
  • Unmarked vans. No logo on the vehicles or the clothing.
  • Follow-up is included. If it comes back inside the warranty, so do we, at no cost.
  • Approved products. Registered for occupied homes, and no incident reported to the Quebec Poison Control Centre in 14 years.

Where We Work in Laval and on the North Shore

An Auteuil exterminator covers the whole sector and the rest of Laval:

The Laval page covers the whole city, the North Shore page covers the region, and we work in Montreal too.

Questions from Auteuil Residents

Because Laval covers more than two hundred and forty square kilometres across six sectors with almost nothing in common. Auteuil, in the north, has the Rivière des Mille Îles bank, barely any commerce, and single family houses from 1960 to 2000 on large lots. Chomedey has none of that. A technician arriving with generic reflexes looks in the wrong places. The Laval page covers the whole city and carries the same price list.

For mice, September, before the wave. The window here is short, about six weeks from the first cold nights, because there is no commercial reservoir keeping pressure up all year. For carpenter ants, spring, when the swarm gives the colony away. For a wasp nest near a door, right away.

$409 in a 4 ½ and $429 for a house, inspection included. Perimeter control is $299. No travel charge: Auteuil is priced the same as the island.

Yes, and it is worth telling us on the phone. The wooded bank is a permanent corridor: it is not maintained like a garden, it runs the length of the sector, and the streets facing it get the autumn wave before the others. We start the inspection on that side. The useful work is the band between the bank and the house, not the bank itself: nothing stacked against the walls, branches cleared off the roof, and the bottom of the building sealed.

Licensed technicians, liability insurance, and a written warranty with the follow-up inside it rather than billed separately. Then three questions: is the price given before the visit or after the inspection? Does the quote cover the treatment or only the inspection? And what happens if it comes back inside the warranty?

No. We do not trap or relocate wildlife: no raccoons, skunks, squirrels, groundhogs, birds or bats. The riverbank attracts a lot of them, and it needs a licensed wildlife specialist. We treat mice, rats and insects.

The prices shown are estimates for the most common cases and can change without notice. We do our best to keep them current. Your final price depends on what the technician finds on site: how far the infestation has spread, how easy the affected areas are to reach, the condition of the property, and how many visits the job needs. You always get the exact price before any work starts.

How Our Auteuil Extermination Service Works

Inspection

A crucial part of each pest control service in Auteuil is an inspection of the property. That way, the pest exterminator will be able to determine the type and severity of the infestation. Based on that, he will choose the most suitable treatment to resolve the pest problem.

Treatment

Depending on the type of the pest, it might include spraying or fogging of affected areas, targeted baiting, or sealing of small entry points. No matter the case, the Auteuil pest exterminator will choose the proper course of action and help you eliminate the intruders.

Follow Up

Some infestations require more than one visit, and with our guaranteed pest control service, additional visits can be organised upon your request. After a certain time, the specialist will return and re-examine the property. If there are still signs of infestation, he will proceed with further treatment.

Prevention

Our Auteuil pest specialist will share helpful advice and give you some tips on preventing further infestation. Following his recommendations will guarantee that your property won't be reinfested again and assure the best results from the pest control service.
