Saint-Hubert Exterminator: Mice, Carpenter Ants and Wasps

Saint-Hubert, one of the South Shore areas Local Extermination serves

A Saint-Hubert exterminator costs $399 for carpenter ants and insects, $409 for mice, and $429 for cockroaches. That is a unit up to a 4 ½. A house costs more because there is a basement, a garage and an exterior to treat. The full list is published below, so you do not have to book a visit to find out.

We are Local Extermination. 14 years around Montreal, 9,000 clients, 6 licensed technicians. Mice, rats and insects: that is all we do, and it is why we are quick at it.

In Saint-Hubert the Neighbourhood Is Sandwiched

Saint-Hubert is not an ordinary suburb, and it comes down to geography. The residential streets, mostly 1950s and 1960s bungalows and split-levels, sit between two large open expanses: the airport and its industrial zone on one side, the farm belt on the other.

Neither behaves like an ordinary field. The land around the runways is hectares of mown grass and drainage ditches, maintained but never built on: permanent habitat for field mice and wasps that does not disappear at harvest. The pressure runs from April to November instead of concentrating into three autumn weeks.

The hangars, garages and warehouses add the other half. Heated buildings, quiet at night, with doors that stay open. That is behind the share of rat work we see here, higher than elsewhere on the South Shore.

Saint-Hubert is part of Longueuil, and our Longueuil exterminator page covers the city as a whole. This one stays on the borough.

Mice

Mouse found indoors during a Saint-Hubert pest inspection

Mice are the pest we get called about most here, and an exterminator for mice is not only busy in autumn. One mouse in September is a family by January.

What you notice first: droppings along a baseboard, about the size of a grain of rice, then scratching inside a wall or above a ceiling, loudest around dusk.

Why Saint-Hubert: the open grass. The airport surrounds and the farmland to the south keep a field mouse population going all season, and the streets that border them get a share every time it is cut, not only at the first frost. A mouse fits through a gap the width of a pencil: the hardened seal at the bottom of a garage door is our number one entry point, then the dryer vent and the service entry.

What makes treatment work: finding the entry points, not just placing bait. On a lot bordering a field or mown grass, perimeter control beats repeating an indoor treatment. You get the list in writing.

From $409 for a unit, $429 for a bungalow. Perimeter work on a house is $299.

Carpenter Ants

Carpenter ants in damp wood in a Saint-Hubert home

A carpenter ant exterminator looks for water first. The ants do not eat wood, they hollow it out to nest in, and they need it damp.

What you notice first: large black ants indoors, fine sawdust under a windowsill, a balcony or a deck joint, and in May the swarm, winged ants all at once at the same window.

Why Saint-Hubert: the trees planted with the bungalows are sixty years old now and reach the rooflines, and a branch resting on a roof edge is a bridge. Add the balconies, sheds and decks of that era: any wood that stays wet is a candidate, especially a beam that was never flashed or a window frame whose caulking has failed.

What makes treatment work: finding the moisture. Kill the nest and leave the water and a new colony finds the same soft wood next year.

Indoor treatment from $399, $399 for a bungalow. Outdoor from $129 for one visit or $327 for three.

Wasps

What you notice first: steady traffic in and out of one point: a soffit, the corner of a shed, a hole in the lawn. A nest is bigger than its entrance suggests.

Why Saint-Hubert: calls peak in August, and ground nests are unusually common here. A wasp nesting in soil wants dry, open, lightly walked ground, and the big lawns of this borough give it exactly that. The soffit above the garage and the shed at the back finish the list.

What makes treatment work: not doing it yourself. A disturbed nest defends itself, and hardware-store spray rarely reaches the inside. A ground nest is the most dangerous to approach, because you step on it before you see it.

One nest is $189. A full treatment covering every nest we find is $259, and each extra nest is $39.

Cockroaches and Bed Bugs

Cockroach in a Saint-Hubert kitchen

Two building pests, less common here than in a Montreal plex but never isolated when they arrive.

An exterminator for cockroaches treats a building, not a door: roaches move through plumbing chases and shared walls. In a bungalow they arrive in cardboard and stay put. From $429 for a unit, $469 for a bungalow, $499 for a restaurant.

An exterminator for bed bugs is almost always called after an object brought them in: second-hand furniture, a suitcase, a mattress collected from a stranger. They survive months without feeding, so the second visit is not optional. From $429, rising to $549 for a 10 ½.

Rats

What you notice first: droppings much larger than a mouse’s, gnaw marks on hard materials, and greasy dark smears along the base of a wall.

Why Saint-Hubert: the industrial zone and the airport buildings. Hangars, garages and warehouses offer warmth, shelter and doors that stay open, and an excavation nearby moves a colony into the surrounding buildings within days. Houses closest to those zones see more than the streets in the middle of the borough.

What makes treatment work: exclusion. Rats need a bigger opening than mice, so the entry points can be found and closed. Baiting without closing them is a permanent subscription.

Spiders and silverfish follow humidity rather than food, so an exterminator for spiders is usually looking at a damp basement. Both start at $399 indoors.

From $409, perimeter control $299, and $230 for a single rat.

When Saint-Hubert Pests Show Up, Month by Month

  • March to May. Carpenter ants swarm as the wood thaws. Wasps start their first nests.
  • June to August. Wasps peak in August, and ground nests turn dangerous the moment you mow.
  • September to November. Mice come in, but here they were already coming: cutting the open grass sends them all summer.
  • December to February. Quiet outside, busy inside: whatever came in during autumn is breeding in a heated wall.

Why Call Us Instead of Someone Else

  • The price before the visit. Not an average: the price on this page.
  • We do not sell products. We do the treatment.
  • Unmarked vehicles. No logo on the vans or on our technicians’ clothes.
  • Follow-up is included. If it comes back inside the warranty, so do we, at no charge.
  • Approved products. Registered for use in occupied homes, with no incident reported to Anti-Poison Canada in 14 years.

Where We Work on the South Shore

A Saint-Hubert exterminator covers the whole borough, from chemin de Chambly out to the airport surrounds. We cover the South Shore cities around it too:

Questions from Saint-Hubert Residents

The averages quoted online describe an inspection billed separately, then a treatment somewhere between a few hundred and over a thousand dollars, which helps nobody decide. We do not work from an average. $399 for insects and $409 for mice in a 4 ½, inspection included, and the full list is on this page.

Bed bugs, without hesitation. They hide where you cannot treat, survive months without feeding and travel between units. That is why the price follows the number of rooms rather than a flat fee, and why the follow-up visit is part of the job. Cockroaches come second for the same reason: in a building, neither of them stops at your door.

Because of the open grass. The airport surrounds and the farmland to the south keep a field mouse population going all season, and every cut sends a share toward the nearest streets. Elsewhere mice arrive at the first frost. Here the pressure is spread from April to November, which is why the July calls surprise people.

Do not mow and do not flood it. A ground nest is the most dangerous to approach because you step on it before you see it, and mower vibration sets the colony off. Mark the spot from a distance, keep children and pets away, and call. Treating one nest is $189.

Licensed technicians, liability insurance, and a written warranty with the follow-up inside it rather than billed separately. Then three questions: is the price given before the visit or after the inspection? Does the quote cover the treatment or only the inspection? And what happens if it comes back?

No. We do not do wildlife removal or relocation, so no raccoons, skunks, squirrels, groundhogs, birds or bats. We treat mice, rats and insects. Near the farmland and the airport this comes up often, and you need a licensed wildlife specialist rather than a technician who cannot help.

The prices shown are estimates for the most common cases and can change without notice. We do our best to keep them current. Your final price depends on what the technician finds on site: how far the infestation has spread, how easy the affected areas are to reach, the condition of the property, and how many visits the job needs. You always get the exact price before any work starts.

How Our Saint-Hubert Extermination Service Works

Inspection

A crucial part of each pest control service in Saint-Hubert is an inspection of the property. That way, the pest exterminator will be able to determine the type and severity of the infestation. Based on that, he will choose the most suitable treatment to resolve the pest problem.

Treatment

Depending on the type of the pest, it might include spraying or fogging of affected areas, targeted baiting, or sealing of small entry points. No matter the case, the Saint-Hubert pest exterminator will choose the proper course of action and help you eliminate the intruders.

Follow Up

Some infestations require more than one visit, and with our guaranteed pest control service, additional visits can be organised upon your request. After a certain time, the specialist will return and re-examine the property. If there are still signs of infestation, he will proceed with further treatment.

Prevention

Our Saint-Hubert pest specialist will share helpful advice and give you some tips on preventing further infestation. Following his recommendations will guarantee that your property won't be reinfested again and assure the best results from the pest control service.
